This Ramadan season SMEX will host its second Savvy Strategist course on our new online learning platform NetHawwal.com. The free course will be given in Arabic and is designed for anyone who wants to improve their advocacy and planning skills, especially with regard to the use of media and technology. We especially encourage applicants who are currently advocating for issues they care about, either locally or internationally. Applications will be accepted until May 20.
In the 8-week course, which will begin in late June, training participants will explore the fundamentals of digital advocacy strategy and planning and get to network with peers working on a range of social justice and community organizing issues from across the region.
Weekly topics will include:
- Developing goals
- Identify stakeholders and key audiences
- Crafting your core messages
- Identifying media channels
- Choosing tactics
- Monitoring and evaluation
As a learner, you will have multiple opportunities to apply what you learn through assignments and quizzes during the course and benefit from one-on-one and peer mentorship too. In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop an advocacy plan and get feedback from guest experts. Certificates and other incentives will be awarded to participants who complete the course.
Places are limited. To transform how you think about making change, please apply by May 30.
