Blog Action Day 2008 Poverty from Blog Action Day on Vimeo.
On October 15, 2008, we’re uniting at Rootspace (or anywhere from your blog) with the entire blogosphere and raising our voices about poverty on Blog Action Day–a worldwide initiative to post blogs about a common cause in a single day.
Bloggers from around the world will write about a chosen topic in an attempt to see what they might accomplish through synchronized posting. By doing so on the same day, the blogging community will alter the conversation on the web and divert the attention of audiences around the globe on the issue of poverty.
Last year’s event focused on the Environment, as thousands of viewpoints and empowering suggestions streamed throughout the Web. Blog Action Day 2007 saw such a thing take place with around 20,000 blogs, including some of the most notable leaders from around the world writing in a way that made the topic of the environment accessible for their readers. This year, there are already thousands of registered blogs with a collective readership of over 7,000,000.
From the smallest online journals, to huge online magazines, to professionals and amateurs, anyone is free to join in on Blog Action Day and there is no limit on the number of posts, the type of posts or the direction of thoughts and opinions.
Join our Social Hour at Rootspace with The Social Media Exchange on Wednesday the 15th of the coming month from 6:30 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and participate in Blog Action Day.
