Tactics are tricky. Choosing the right ones to advance your campaign takes research, time, and testing. So it’s helpful to see how others have handled similar situations. Two new online resources promise to make it easier for Arab organizers to find and adapt a wide variety of tactics to their campaign work.
New Tactics Launches in Arabic
New Tactics for Human Rights has launched a new Arabic-language website where activists can browse more than 100 tactics summaries, including information about how they worked in practice. The website will also serve as a platform for New Tactics’ well-known practitioner dialogues, hosted in Arabic, and you can also register for their Arabic email newsletter. You can suggest topics or offer feedback via Facebook or Twitter.
10 Tactics Unstitched in English & Arabic
In addition, Tactical Technology Collective has released 10 Tactics Unstitched, another online database, in English and Arabic, that catalogues dozens of tactics according to the issues they addressed, tools they used, and the countries where they were implemented. The collection is a re-imagining of stories and data gathered for the 10 Tactics program, based on feedback from practitioners using the original 10 Tactics cards, which are also available in Arabic. Send comments about the website or ideas for improving it to infoactivism[AT]tacticaltech[DOT]org.
