On July 24 and 26, SMEX’s Mohamad Najem will offer an advanced workshop for activists, journalists, and civil society organizers wanting to use Twitter more effectively. In the workshop, intermediate Twitter users will learn to use Twitter strategically, paying particular attention to how they can leverage the tool to expand their networks and distribute information more effectively.

In particular, participants will set goals for their Twitter accounts and identify specific tactics for achieving them. Other topics the workshop will cover include:
● A review of Twitter basics
● Finding people to follow and creating lists
● Setting up a Twitter client and cross-posting from other accounts
● Best practices for engaging with others on Twitter
● Hosting a Tweetup or using Twitter for covering events
The day-long workshop will be given twice, on July 24 and 26, 2012, at the SMEX offices and is free of charge. Please note that the language of the workshop is Arabic. Space is limited, so apply now (Arabic Only). Selected participants will receive an email confirmation from SMEX.
