SMEX
28 April 2020

With the continuing crises that Lebanon and the world are facing, we at SMEX have sought ways in which free knowledge, which is an integral part of the ecosystem of digital rights, can contribute to addressing the emerging problems. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, SMEX has invested in 3D printers to create different useful items to help communities around the country. For now, we have printed hundreds of face shields and distributed many of them to people in need and health workers.

If you are in need of face shields, please get in touch with us via WhatsApp/Signal at: 70-006695 to place a request. We are giving items for free or for donation.

We are also working with “Daleel Tadamon” on adding health care centers to the free and open data repository, OpenStreetMap. The additions include pharmacies, hospitals, and clinics, with information about the services they provide and general contact information.
