SMEX Seeks Proactive, Detail-Oriented Part-Time Financial Officer

SMEX is recruiting a part-time financial officer (20 hours a week) to manage project and organizational accounting procedures and prepare periodic financial reports.

Innovation for Change, in Partnership with SMEX, Seeks a Digital Money Researcher

Innovation for Change and SMEX are looking for a digital money researcher to map the landscape of digital money across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, including current mechanisms for its use and barriers, applicable legal frameworks, and opportunities to enter the market from the perspective of donors, activists, and civil society organizations. The researcher will also map innovative funding methods used by NGOs and social enterprises, and investigate how to use these methods for the sustainability of social enterprises.

During a four-month work period, the researcher will create an outline for digital money mapping in the region, identify two case studies, and create a final report on the subject.

The researcher will be reporting to the MENA hub coordinator, along with corresponding with Innovation For Change, SMEX, and the helper hubs.

Note: As a first step, the report will cover Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, and Morocco.

Innovation for Change, in Partnership with SMEX, Seeks a Web Developer and Web Security Specialist

Innovation for Change and SMEX are looking for a web developer and web security specialist, to work closely with the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) based civil society organizations (CSOs), to improve the structure, increase the efficiency of their digital efforts and code of their respective websites as well as provide hosting and optimization services to raise the visibility of their social networking accounts.

The specialist will work with two CSOs to improve the information architecture, design, and search engine optimization (SEO) of their respective websites, as well as provide a higher level of security.

Interning with SMEX

Social Media Exchange (SMEX) is looking for an enthusiastic intern, who believes in change in Lebanon, and who’s interested to work on digital rights and online advocacy campaigns.
You will work closely with the SMEX team and partners on existing research projects related to digital rights in Lebanon and Arabic-speaking countries, create content for our website, and our newsletter. We also encourage our interns to come up with ideas for their own projects.

This internship will be open until announced otherwise; only complete applications will be reviewed.
