SMEX, the Arab region’s leading digital rights research, training, and advocacy organization, is conducting research on the roll-out of digital ID systems in Arabic-speaking countries. To assist us, we are seeking a tech-savvy social science or other researcher to gather literature, identify relevant stakeholders, conduct interviews, and survey the landscape of digital ID implementation in the region and beyond.
SMEX is recruiting a Deputy Director to join our growing team in Beirut. The Deputy Director will have a strong voice in the alignment of processes with SMEX’s near-, mid-, and long-term objectives and will be encouraged to propose and experiment with innovative approaches that provide the foundation we need to amplify our collective voice and deepen our impact.
Social Media Exchange (SMEX) is looking for an enthusiastic intern, who believes in change in Lebanon, and who’s interested to work on digital rights and online advocacy campaigns. You will work closely with the SMEX team and partners on existing research projects related to digital rights in Lebanon and Arabic-speaking countries, create content for our website, and our newsletter. We also encourage our interns to come up with ideas for their own projects.
All positions are open until filled; only complete applications will be reviewed.
If none of these openings suits your qualifications, please note that SMEX frequently works with freelancers and consultants. If you would like to be considered for future assignments, please send an email with a brief note and your CV or resume to firstname.lastname@example.org with “CONSULTANT” in the subject line. We regret that we cannot reply to all submissions, but we will keep your information on file and review it as opportunities arise.
