Organized by SMEX, Bread&amp;Net offers a collaborative space for learning, strategizing, and building networks of solidarity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bread&amp;Net fosters an open, safe, and diverse environment for knowledge exchange, resource sharing, and strategic collaboration. After a two-year hiatus, Bread&amp;Net returns this October with a highly anticipated in-person gathering in Beirut, highlighting the urgent need for face-to-face dialogue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The unconference will unite civil society groups, journalists, policymakers, technologists, lawyers, judges, scholars, and independent voices to critically examine the growing role of technology in the region. This gathering will be a vital space for sparking new conversations, developing adaptive strategies, and forging strong collaborations to navigate an increasingly complex and challenging landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><b>Job Overview<\/b><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Notetaker to help us with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/breadandnet.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bread&amp;Net. <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Notetaker will be responsible for capturing and documenting detailed notes during live sessions in Beirut from October 14 to 16, 2026. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, an exceptional ability to focus, and experience in producing accurate, comprehensive, and detailed notes.\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><b>Roles &amp; Responsibilities<\/b><\/h1>\n<h2><b>Preparation:\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participate in a training session on data collection methods.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Familiarize yourself with the agenda, objectives, and expected outcomes of the event\/meeting.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure that all necessary note-taking materials (e.g., notebook, laptop) are prepared and functional.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Note-Taking Execution during the event:<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attend and take clear, accurate, detailed notes during the sessions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attend and actively participate in the event\/meeting to capture meaningful discussions, decisions, and action items.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take detailed and organized notes in real-time using a structured format.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accurately maintain and manage data, following best practices for data management, confidentiality, and ethical standards.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Update and maintain necessary documents, such as the template log, on a daily basis as directed by the team leader.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consistently check and adhere to the data collection schedule, managing logistical arrangements to ensure all necessary preparations are in place before the data collection day.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Review and clean collected data<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Post-Event Deliverables:<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Compile comprehensive meeting minutes or summary reports based on the notes taken.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submit the meeting minutes or notes of the covered sessions, to the designated contact, during the same day.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The raw notes shall be submitted along with filling in the required template.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assist with transcriptions of recorded sessions when needed.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><b>Qualifications<\/b><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proven experience in notetaking during conferences or events.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proficiency in English and Arabic is required, other languages commonly used by residents are a plus (i.e. French).\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ability to type above 60-80 words per
